Background: We recently worked with one of the largest mining firms in the world. Visible from space, its a copper mine in owns is the largest open pit mine on Earth. Data scientists at the client’s HQ developed a predictive model to enhance mining operations. The software using the model incorporates hundreds of variables to predict output, but it needed to be easy to use to encourage adoption of the new process.

Process: On-site interviews were conducted with supervisors, production planners, to identify the critical factors to improve output. Weekly design sprints allowed for iteration and efficient feedback from the users and team. Wireframes and a clickable prototype were delivered.
